Simply Betty Steampunk Challenge

Simply Betty Steampunk Challenge

This is my entry for the Simply Betty Steampunk Challenge which Betty very kindly provided the image for.

This was my first attempt at a steampunk card but I think I got the basic concept, it did take a few days of popping in and out of the craft room but I'm so glad I took my time. Shes such a cute image (am I allowed to call steampunk cute? :-)

Again I cant believe what a frugal crafter I have been again. The pearl pin, clog paper and the paper I used for the rose were from my Alys Den RAK last year, the rose paper wasn't quite the right colour so I coloured it with my promarkers. I also coloured the image with promarkers, adding a little diamond glaze here and there. The ribbon was from a friend, and the keys were earring I bought many years ago in a sale in Claires.

Thanks again Betty for the image https://www.facebook.com/groups/486424581374935/

Morning Betty and Bette Davis

Morning Betty and Bette Davis

This is my very favourite image from Simply Betty so far and she makes such a cheeky card, especially with the sentiment.

Betty was coloured using promarkers, papers from my stash and news paper card candi

Thank you teacher cards

One of the girls in work asked me to make a card for her daughters primary school teacher and this is what I finally came up with. Originally I'd planned to use white embossing powder as writing on the blackboard but it failed miserably so i settled on die cut letters with diamond glaze. I used my promarkers to colour this fabulous free whimsy stamp with her hair the same colour as the little girls. I was really happy with how it turned out, and when I took it into work I was asked to make a few more.

A work in progress (I love doing multiple identical projects)

Thank you for popping by and allowing me to share my creations xox

My first blog challenge

This is my first blog challenge so I'm very excited

Last year for my friends Natalie's 30th birthday she had a fancy dress party, she dressed up as She-ra, so this was the perfect image to make into her birthday card this year. Silly me thought her birthday was on the 30th of Jan but just looked in my birthday book today and it was tomorrow, so i'm hoping she'll love her card and forgive me :-)

To make this card I used up some stash that I've had for ages, the glitter card was from the children's art section in tesco, the red pearlised card was from Dunelm mill, the gems I got in Bargain books (£1 for lots of coloured gems - bargain indeed). The star paper was a freebie by Jennifer Ellroy in a magazine a few years ago (I can't believe how thrifty this card has been given the amount of stash I buy :-) ). She-ra is an amazing freebie from MayzyArt and I coloured her with my promarkers and added a touch of glossy accents to her ruby in her crown.

I'd like to enter her into the MazyArt challenge #008 anything goes

My first blog hop

Happy saturday everyone,

I've just been on my first blog hop today and what fun, it was by teddy Bo for their birthday and the goal was to collect letters and then use the word in a phase on their comments for a chance of winning £20 in digi vouchers :-)

I spent last night playing with my pro markers colouring and with a glass of wine and a very sleepy dog, I had a lovely me night. Ill post photos when I'm next at my laptop (except for simply Betty's secret release-that you'll have to wait for).

Enjoy your weekend

Teddy bo grandad card

I'm working through showing you all my favourite cards.

This is a card I made using some fantastic free teddy Bo stamps, large scalloped punch and free papers in 2012, it was for a grandad from his young granddaughter and grandfather so the stamps were perfect.

I coloured teddy Bo and Bea with promarker and I'm really happy with how it turned out :-)

Thanks for popping by

A custom made EBMAS card

Good morning guys,

i just wanted to share this card I was asked to make for it girl in work. It was for her father who is really into EBMAS for his birthday (I'd never heard of it before so it was a real challenge).

I'm really happy with how it turned out and I still managed to add some gems :-), more importantly he loved it too.

Scrapbook class I took in 2009

A weekend at Galgorm manor Co Antrim and my first attempt with ultra thick embossing powder

Not the cutest of babies but definately a 1970s baby

Alot of the scrapbook pages were aimed for people with kids but I thought my boyfriend would be a great substitute

Fixing my best friends hair at her wedding

Thankyou for having a look at my scrapbook pages, I cant take all the credit because I did them at a class but I'm still very proud of how they turned out :-) (when I work out how to download images from my computer I'll show you the rest)

Doggy day care

I mentioned doggy day care in my last post so had to share this photo of Maggie with all her day care friends :-)

Christmas candles

I love trying something new, so when I saw this I knew I had to give it a try. I made a matching card and gave it as a Christmas gift to the lovely lady at doggy day care (yip Maggie goes to doggy day care) :-)

Little Claire's men stamps

This is a card I made using little Claire's men stamps I bought at the create and craft fair at the kings hall last year, they're just so versatile and I always find men's cards quite hard to make. I'm really happy with how it turned out :-)

Meet Maggie

I thought as well as a place to share my crafty bits and pieces, I could share stories of the new addition to our home. When my boyfriend said he wanted a dog I thought he was mad, when he said he had his heart set on a Doberman I thought he'd lost the plot, but after months and months of begging (for want of a better word) he wore me down and after a couple glasses of wine I finally agreed on the condition he was the one who got up in the mornings to sort her out :-)

So off we went to Wales to collect our puppy. We had asked for a passive girl puppy and when we arrived she was already picked out for us, however the breeder threw a spanner in the works saying she had a really chilled out puppy called tank (he lived up to his name in size). After a lot of debate we decided that a girl dog was what we came for so a girl do was what we were taking home. Not so chilled out, she barked for the entire journey and had pooped everywhere within the first 30 mins, new barking puppy covered in poo-we were so tempted to turn the car and take her back. Thankfully we didn't and with lots of love miss Maggie has now become a wonderful member of our little family, she's such a sweet natured puppy with a cheeky playful streak.

When I was setting up my blog again I thought of the movie marley and me and the mischief that lead to the blog in the movie, I think miss Maggie could rival Marley any day, and on naughty days I often tell her she worse than Marley, for example she pooped a sock on Xmas day, she's pulled my dressing gown open in front of the postman (thankfully I had pjs on) and she frequently pushes her head up my skirt in public to get her halti lead off. She's a rascal but she our rascal :-)

O and she's the laziest puppy

Hope you enjoy our journey with Maggie along with my crafty adventures x
